Social events

The Psychology society regularly organise a number of social events to compliment your studying whilst at Brookes.

Pub Crawl

Pub Crawls

Pub crawls are a great chance to socialise and relax with fellow psychology students from all years of study. They are also an opportunity to explore the nightlife on Cowley Road and Oxford city centre.

Movie Night

Movie Nights

Throughout the year there will be number of movie nights held for Psychology students to come and enjoy films together with popcorn and refreshments. For example, a Halloween movie night is planned when psychological thrillers will be shown, such as Shutter Island. On other nights psychology documentaries will be shown, providing insights into interesting new topics which aren’t always covered in lectures.

Freud

Psych Society Trips

Oxford has some great transport links, especially to London. The society will be taking advantage of these links to provide students with the opportunity to learn about Psychology and its history outside of the lecture theatre.

For example, the Psychology society is currently planning to visit the Freud museum in London. The museum is the home of Sigmund Freud and contains artefacts related to his work and that of his daughter. There are a number of other museums and galleries in the area which often have exhibitions dedicated to the subject which the society aims to visit.
